Christie's Pub & Grill, 3261 S. 13th St., is a long-time family-owned and operated establishment. Jason and his mom, Eileen, are the driving forces behind the neighborhood gem, but Eileen is usually cooking in the kitchen while Jason keeps the bar.

The family that runs Christies, 3261 S. 13th St., classifies its offerings as "Gourmet Pub Food." Indeed, it is. The appetizers, including fried squid, prosciutto wrapped scallops over pears, set the stage for strong entrees like bacon wrapped, barbecued shrimp ($13) and fried lobster. Everything is served in a warm, welcoming environment that will make you want to return.
