Times Cinema closes briefly for renovation
The Times Cinema, 5906 W. Vliet St., is closing for a few days to make room for new seats. According to its Web site, the theater is closed from April 18-20 for the installation of "some really comfy chairs."
They will re-open this weekend with the new seating, featuring extended legroom.
The Washington Heights theater has been in operation since 1935.

it's about time--the seats there are AWFUL-although i attend movies at the times i found the seats to be nearly unbearable. and i would try several seats with no luck--they are all in terrible condition. this should have been done years ago. i wonder how many moviegoers avoided the times because of the seats.
