If you like beer combined with a genuine historic German atmosphere, then you will love Best Place at the old Pabst Brewery! The ballroom, tavern and the gift shop, which is filled with antiques, many of which are recovered from the original brewery, are hidden between several old as well as refurbished brewery buildings. Dont let yourself get thrown off by the run-down appearance of some of the surrounding buildings; the area is part of a great redevelopment project after the original brewery shut down in the 90s. The tavern has two beautiful little courtyards, one of which houses a statue of Captain Pabst, where guests can enjoy a glass of cold Milwaukee or Wisconsin brewed beer. Best Place is also one of the few places that have the pre-prohibition beer Batch 19 on tap! If you are interested in learning more about Milwaukees history, you should definitely go on one of their tours. Tours are offered on weekends at noon and 2pm and include a free beer ($9 for adults, $7 for students and seniors). All in all, if youre looking for a place to sit with your friends and enjoy great beer in an authentic German and historic atmosphere, this is definitely the Best Place for you to be!
